Digital Solutions And Long-Term Storage

25/01/2024

The volume of digital data is constantly growing alongside human development. Ensuring access to current digital data in the future remains a significant challenge.

Current storage technologies such as hard drives, optical discs, cloud computing, magnetic tapes, LTO, etc., all have a limited lifespan and are constantly changing to meet market demands. Therefore, to store, search, and access this data effectively, we must move data from one physical medium to another. Dependence on data movement without feedback can become increasingly costly over time and can result in data loss due to various factors such as hardware and software malfunctions, and human error.

By applying a storage technology that has been proven over a century, we convert the physical plastic film into a digital storage medium. The digital data is recorded as high-resolution pixel points on a 35mm film. Each pixel point can hold binary code (0 and 1). The binary codes can be decoded into the original file format just like any other digital storage technology.
